My first time dabbling in Adobe After Effects and it was pretty exciting and educational. I started having interest in AE when I came up w/ an idea of creating a motion graphic video for one of my favourite musicians and at first it was quite a challenge but after learning from online tutorials such as: AE Tuts, Video Co-Pilot, and Adobe TV it made me come out of my comfort zone and design away. It’s really cool and you get to add effects to footages or images that you want to add life into it.

The song is “Everyday Things” from David Usher’s new album called “The Mile End Sessions“. It is a stripped down version from his previous album called “Wake Up And Say Goodbye“. Choosing this song was not difficult because it really meant something and it speaks of life in general. I dedicate this song to all the people who had lost their loved ones from cancer and other terrible diseases.

Creating this project is a great start to learn more about what Adobe AE has to offer. I hope to create more videos (time permitting) and apply more AE stuff.

Hmmm, just wanted to give you all an update about this website I’ve been working on for quite some time now. I was fascinated by jQuery so I thought I’d make a good use of it. This website is designed with horizontal navigation, no page refresh forms, jQuery kwicks, jQuery easing and some other cool stuff. Once I get the forms finalized this will be out of my hard drive and ready to tackle the WWW.
More notes to be followed…. in the meantime, enjoy viewing (the composite image) BTW, this almost passed IE 6 browser compatibility (I say about 80% complete) but it really started to bug me so I finally dropped it!

Well, this was supposed to be in here a long time ago but something weird happened to my wordpress account and I had to re-import my database which is not the latest one. Anyway, here’s the final layout I designed for my freelance website. Hope you all like it. For those of you who had seeen it, nothing new except some minor updates and changes. For those who have not, well the thrill of introducing it is still there I hope you enjoy it.

Okay… I had created the layout in Illustrator to get a better view of what I think I want to do to my website (which I think is a good practice)…A simple preview of what it’s going to look like layout-wise…I’m excited to start working on it and see how it’ll turn out of course with a little help from friends in the industry and open source-ing…I’ll keep you posted or I’ll let you know when it’s up and running in all browsers and os…950 pixels wide…Can’t wait to start laying out the remaining pages and see them in action…Rock and Roll!

Feeling Animated…

This really caught my attention – a life size Japanese robot named “Gundam” being built in Odaiba, Tokyo. It would really be cool to see Voltes V made into a life sized robot. Voltes V is one of my childhood heroes but I wanted to give a huge credit to the hard working people who were involved in creating this masterpiece.

Right now, I’m thinking about a friend’s possible project…. called “Jeans”… I haven’t really designed back pockets before but I’ll surely give it a try…

What’s new???
I am excited to see what RMI (Rich Media Institute) has to offer by attending their live workshop happening tonight. I had registered for their JavaScript workshop just to update my skills and learn more tricks of the trade. I am also taking a month course at Humber College for an XHTML course next week then perhaps take on more flash courses at George Brown. There are so many courses/workshops to choose from you just need to know which ones are applicable.

Gotta go!

I was at FITC’s “Digital Media Job DAY” on Saturday (you should see the traffic at Gardiner, all the cars are running backwards)….Main purpose was to network to agencies that might be interested in my skills. I prepared a mini movie presentation in a CD that included my pdf portfolio with active links, my cover letter and resumé. I saw fellow colleagues…It’s pretty tough out there. I am excited to go back to school (part-time) and learn more exciting and challenging things. It’s never too late for anything.
